Cricket Association of Chitwan felicitated Sandeep Lamichhane and his coach Raju Khadka.

Nepal cricket team’s sensational leg-spinner, Sandeep Lamichhane, who is identifying his nation through his game got felicitated by his hometown’s cricket association. This year so far has been exceptional for this young prodigious Lamichhane. Starting from IPL contract with Delhi Daredevils to youngest player to claim man of the tournament award in ICC World Cricket League Division II, period of last 30 days has been his career defining phase. Recently he has been nominated as youth ambassador of KBC Nepal. His picture has been published in South Africa’s famous weekly newspaper ‘Republikien’. Cricket Association of Chitwan felicitated him as well as his coach Raju Khadka. Raju Khadka played vital role to produce this exceptional talent and (CAC) praises Khadka and showed their thankfulness towards him. Sandeep Lamichhane flew back to Kathmandu immediately after the function to join his national squad.

Nepal cricket team will fly to Zimbabwe coming Saturday to participate in ICC World Cup Qualifier 2018. Nepal booked their place in qualifier by claiming second position in recently concluded ICC World Cricket Champion League Division II. Tournament will commence from March 04 with 10 teams eyeing for that two vacant spot of ICC World Cup 2019. Nepal is placed in Group ‘B’ where host Zimbabwe along with Afghanistan, Scotland and Hong Kong will face each others in group stage. Nepal’s first priority will be  to finish on top three among associate nations to confirm their ODI status for coming four years.
